Last summer, we hired more than 20 interns to both help out with the campaign and create an opportunity for our young people to learn about public policy and the political process. It was so successful that upon election, I committed to continuing a robust internship program so our students could learn and engage at the State level. Mentoring the next generation of leaders is one of the most important things we can do as a society to ensure a positive future for all.
Tomorrow is Discovery Day in Lexington, and we are closing down Massachusetts Avenue to enhance the festivities as we celebrate one of the most fun and dynamic days of the year in town! Throw on some sunscreen and stop by my booth just outside Depot Square on Mass Ave to discuss current topics at the State House, meet my Legislative Aide, get help with state agencies, or just say hi. We will be there all day!
As the buds were blooming in the trees here on Beacon Hill, I joined a bipartisan coalition of my colleagues in the Massachusetts House of Representatives to pass our Fiscal Year 2020 budget.

Last Wednesday, I officially took my seat as a member of the 191st Massachusetts General Court., surrounded by my family and many supporters and friends, I took the oath of office, swearing to uphold the Constitution of the State of Massachusetts and the United States. It was an exciting day as my fellow legislators and I affirmed our collective commitment to improving the lives of all residents of our state.

With just over a month left before I am sworn in to the 191st General Court, I am pleased to host my first office hours as 15th Middlesex Representative-elect. Please join me, retiring Representative Jay Kaufman, Senator Cindy Friedman, and 30th Middlesex Representative-elect Rich Haggerty to ask questions, discuss policy, or talk about issues important to you.
Thank you to the thousands of voters of Lexington and Woburn for putting their faith in me. I am deeply grateful for your support at the polls, and to the hundreds of volunteers and interns who generously gave of their time and energy during the past year.
With the Sept. 4 primary election behind us, I want to extend my deepest gratitude to my supporters - friends, family and the wonderful residents of Lexington and Woburn - for your support throughout the campaign and at the polls.
Can you believe that Election Day is less than one month away? There have been a lot of exciting things happening on the campaign, but I wanted to specifically tell you about one endorsement I'm especially proud of -- the Environmental League of Massachusetts.
