The heat and humidity of the summer may be at its peak, but that's only getting our campaign more determined! Next Wednesday, August 1, 2018, we're going to be taking a break from knocking on doors for a few hours for an exciting campaign event in Lexington. I hope you'll join me for a fun evening with your friends and neighbors. Here are the details: I hope you'll have the opportunity to attend, learn more about our campaign, and get involved!
Thank you Massachusetts Women's Political Caucus for endorsing my candidacy for State Representative! The MWPC has played a critical role in electing qualified women candidates from City Councilors to U.S. Senators. To earn their endorsement in such a crowded field of candidates is truly an honor. It also shows that our message is resonating and our hard work is making a real difference. Moreover, my recognition by this group of very influential, involved citizens adds one more element to my ability to be effective on Beacon Hill from day one. "We are pleased to endorse a group of terrific women candidates who are highly qualified and committed to making positive changes in districts across Massachusetts," said Laurie Martinelli, Executive Director. "This is a watershed year for the Caucus in many respects, and through these endorsements for offices statewide we are seeing this women’s movement unfolding right in front of our eyes.” Please see the attached press release for more information on Michelle's endorsement and the mission of MWPC.
I can't believe summer is actually here! When we launched our campaign earlier this year, there was a foot of snow on the ground. Since then, we've been out working hard and connecting with voters in Lexington and Woburn -- knocking on over 2,500 doors, hosting more than 40 meet & greets, and putting up more than 250 lawn signs.
The response has been incredible and the excitement surrounding our grassroots campaign is palpable. With all this excitement, we're also approaching an important fundraising deadline. The second fundraising quarter ends on June 30th, and we want to end this quarter strong. Will you consider making a donation in any amount between now and Saturday night at midnight? If you have been considering making a contribution, then now is the most critical time to do so! Please click here to donate today! With your continued support, we will have the resources we need to continue our momentum and grow our organization. I can't thank you enough for your generous support, and I look forward to updating you with more exciting news coming next week! The crowd at last week's Campaign Kickoff was incredible! With over 150 people packing the Lexington Depot, we came together to talk about our shared vision for Lexington, Woburn, and the entire Commonwealth of Massachusetts. I was proud to have Hank Manz and Vineeta Kumar introduce me and talk about the future of our communities. Click here to see photos from our kickoff!
This campaign is all about building a grassroots organization across Lexington and Woburn so every resident has a voice in government. Today, I'm excited to release a list of over 300 neighbors who are publicly supporting our campaign. It means a lot to put your name behind a candidate, and I am so grateful that so many local elected officials, community leaders, civic activists, and neighbors are willing to be listed as endorsers. Is your name missing from the list and you want to join our growing team? Please click here to sign on as an endorser! With your support, we will be successful in September and take our message to Beacon Hill! Spring has officially sprung and our campaign for State Representative is in full swing! As we continue our grassroots organizing, hosting meet & greets, and door knocking, I wanted to invite you to my official Campaign Kickoff Event. I hope you'll join us for a fun night with your friends and neighbors.
Here are the details:
The event is free, open to the public, and all are welcome! Light refreshments will be served. For more event information, please email michelleciccolo@gmail.com. Thank you again for your continued support, and see you on the 8th! I want to thank everyone who turned out to help us with canvassing in Woburn last week. It was a lovely day & we met a lot of great folks. I know we have been buried under snow recently, with maybe more on the way. But the campaign train rolls on! What can you do to help? You can:

"Women have made great progress in forging new paths; let's talk about how to continue that trend and increase the numbers."
Join me on Tuesday, March 13 at 7:00 PM at Cary Memorial Library, in Lexington for the Women in Leadership panel discussion. In recognition of women's history month, Cary Library has organized a panel of women in leadership roles to discuss women's participation in a variety of organizations and professions. I am honored to be included. My fellow panelists include:
See the Cary Library event calendar for more details. I hope you can join us! These past few weeks have been both busy and exhilarating out on the campaign trail!
On January 30th, we held an organizational meeting attended by over 50 volunteers and supporters. It was great seeing so many old friends, but I was also excited to see so many new faces in the room. At this meeting, we began our nomination paper drive to collect the signatures required to qualify for the ballot. Last week, we officially submitted our first batch of signatures! Thanks to the help of dozens of volunteers in Lexington and Woburn, we were able to exceed our signature collection goal. We've also been very busy hosting coffees, meet & greets, and house parties across the district. We have multiple public events scheduled every week and more are being added daily. If you're interested in attending an event, please click here. I would also be honored if you would consider hosting a coffee of your own! There are plenty of exciting ways to get involved in our grassroots organization, and I would love to have your help. Please email me, contact a committee member, or sign up online here! There's so much at stake in this election, so I hope you will join me to ensure Lexington and Woburn continue to have strong, progressive leadership on Beacon Hill.. Thank you, friends! Last month, I told you about an aggressive goal we set for our campaign -- 100 contributions before the December 31st fundraising deadline. Thanks to your incredible generosity, we surpassed our goal with over 214 donations! I am so grateful and humbled by your support and belief in me.
Now, it's critical that we continue to build our grassroots organization. I hope you'll join our team for our first organizational meeting. Here are the details:
We'd love for you to come by to learn more about our campaign, talk about our shared vision for Lexington and Woburn, and get involved! We need everyone to sign up and share your support of our campaign. I look forward to seeing you soon! |
