Endorsements
I am very proud to have earned the endorsements from the following organizations:
Planned Parent Advocacy Fund of Massachusetts
We know how important the 2018 elections are. For too long, dangerous politicians have sat in power, pushing harmful legislation to undermine reproductive rights, deny people affordable birth control, and restrict access to safe, legal abortion. Even in Massachusetts, vocal, organized opponents of reproductive rights and health care access hold elected office. Time and again, they put their ideological agendas ahead of the health and rights of their constituents. But not for long. Across the country and right here in Massachusetts, people are pulling papers to challenge politicians who don’t stand up for our health, rights, and communities. We are proud to support these candidates and their efforts to not only take down their incumbent opponents, but to advance a shared agenda that expands access to care, bolsters reproductive rights, and dismantles health inequities. |
Moms Demand Action Gun Sense Candidate
I have been involved in the anti-gun violence movement for several years as a Lexington Selectman, serving in the municipal executive branch. I was proud that Lexington sent three school buses to the March for Our Lives Rally – Two to Boston and one to Washington, DC. I attended the March for Our Lives rally, riding the bus with the students and adults and was at the organizing meetings leading up to the march. We've held a candle light vigil on the Lexington Battle Green and a rally since then and I've been in attendance for both. I have also been attending the weekly student-led organizing meetings as often as possible. I am the only candidate in my race who has been active in the organizing meetings doing more than just attending the rallies. I know we need to do more. I've been promoting a series of suggestions to act locally but also formulating what I think needs to be done at the State level as I contemplate the role I would want to play if elected to the State Legislature. |

I will be a strong ally for healthcare workers across the Commonwealth, and will advocate for working families. |
Environmental League of Massachusetts
I’m proud to receive the endorsement of the Environmental League of Massachusetts. I hope to work closely with ELM in order to further sustainable environmental policy on Beacon Hill. “Michelle is an experienced public servant,” stated ELM Action Fund Executive Director Joe O’Brien. "She knows that in towns like Lexington and across the state we need a clean energy economy that will power us into the future." “Michelle will make the environment a priority,” said ELM Action Fund President Elizabeth Henry. “She will bring the knowledge and passion she has developed over her years spent serving her community to the State House.” |
Massachusetts Women's Political Caucus (MWPC)
Thank you Massachusetts Women's Political Caucus for endorsing my candidacy for State Representative! The MWPC has played a critical role in electing qualified women candidates from City Councilors to U.S. Senators. To earn their endorsement in such a crowded field of candidates is truly an honor. It also shows that our message is resonating and our hard work is making a real difference. Moreover, my recognition by this group of very influential, involved citizens adds one more element to my ability to be effective on Beacon Hill from day one. "We are pleased to endorse a group of terrific women candidates who are highly qualified and committed to making positive changes in districts across Massachusetts," said Laurie Martinelli, Executive Director. "This is a watershed year for the Caucus in many respects, and through these endorsements for offices statewide we are seeing this women’s movement unfolding right in front of our eyes.” |
Massachusetts Organization of Scientists
"MOSES recognizes [Michelle's] commitment to protecting public employee's collective bargaining rights and her extensive knowledge on the inefficiency of consultant use on transportation projects. We are proud to endorse and stand with Michelle in her candidacy for State Representative. We look forward to working with Michelle as she continues to advocate for policies that protect hard working state employees and make the Commonwealth a great place to work and live." |
