Meet Michelle

Michelle Ciccolo is the State Representative for the 15th Middlesex District in Massachusetts, which includes all of the Town of Lexington and part of the City of Woburn.  She serves on four Joint Committees, which include Children, Families and Persons with Disabilities; Elder Affairs; Environment, Natural Resources and Agriculture; State Administration and Regulatory Oversight.  Ciccolo has become an active participant in a number of legislative member organizations such as the Progressive Caucus, the Massachusetts Caucus of Women Legislators, the Food System Caucus, the METCO Caucus, the Italian Caucus, the Regional Transit Authority Caucus, the Small Business Caucus, the Climate Alliance Caucus, and the National Guard Caucus.
In early 2020, Ciccolo co-founded the bipartisan Zero Waste Caucus, which works to reduce and eliminate solid waste in Massachusetts through legislative action, state and local collaboration, information gathering, education, and public outreach.
As a lifelong resident of Lexington, Michelle is proud to make her home there with her husband, Phil, and their two sons, Dylan and Foster.  She has a BA from Villanova University and an MS from the McCormack Graduate School of Public Policy at UMass Boston.  As the Assistant Town Administrator and Community Development Director for the Town of Hudson, MA, Michelle spent 20 years leading and managing a wide range of capital projects and initiatives.  She has served on two statewide planning organizations, including three years as the President of the Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC) and three terms on the Massachusetts Municipal Association Board.  She was also a gubernatorial appointee to the Local Government Advisory Commission.  Having served on a variety of other statewide and regional transportation boards, she is a noted expert in transportation circles, serving as the driving force behind the creation of the Assabet River Rail Trail and the initiator of the Complete Streets Program in Massachusetts.  Prior to being elected to the Massachusetts General Court, Michelle served nearly two full terms on the Lexington Select Board and one term as an elected member of the Lexington Planning Board.  She also founded and runs a small consulting firm, The Ciccolo Group, which specializes in planning, community development, municipal management, permitting, and real estate development. ​
